Kevin (they/he) Cancer/Tiger
My time studying the body - from science to spirit - includes roots in Chinese medicine, a career as a ballet dancer, and a deep reverence for the wide breadth of yoga practice. These vantage points may be unique to my story, but they also offer teachings that acknowledge the full-spectrum human-ness in each of us, just as we are. I find joy in learning ways, every day and every moment, to celebrate our unique and shared human-ness. To celebrate me. To celebrate you. To celebrate us.
My yoga practice is fluid, and depends on the time, place, and mood! I share practices based on studies of self-inquiry through hatha (Shadow Yoga), vinyasa, bhakti (chanting and mantra), meditation (Tantrik Shaivism and Bön/Tibetan Buddhism). I meet this with the energetic science of Chinese medicine, meridian theory, and the five elements.
When you arrive at a class, kick back and let yourself go on a journey. There will be elements of yoga, qigong, play, steadiness, surprise, challenge, failure, laughter, encouragement, strength, and sweet release. There's an invitation to explore what it means to sense and feel your body in a radically honest way. There's power there. Wherever and however you are.
